About the Position:

Grant Administration

  • Research and identify new grant opportunities. Continuously research and identify potential grant opportunities that are in alignment with Lund’s goals and mission. Stay current with grantor priorities and trends.
  • Manage all aspects of the grant application process including writing proposals, collecting necessary information from team members or other sources, and ensuring grant applications are submitted on time and accurately.
  • Prepare and submit reports to grantors in compliance with associated guidelines. Provide updates on project process, outcomes, and financial accountability.
  • Maintain records ensuring information is current, accurate, and accessible.

Relationship Cultivation and Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential grantors, including public agencies and private foundations through effective communication, networking, and demonstrating the impact of Lund’s work.
  • Express gratitude to grantors and partners for their support and investment in Lund. Acknowledge their contributions and maintain positive relations by overseeing stewardship and communicating at least quarterly.   
  • Continuously cultivate deeper relationships. Seek opportunities for collaboration beyond the grant application process such as engagement in Lund events and facilitating connections.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Lund’s history, impact, and programs.
  • Assist with other fundraising projects as requested including but not limited to Lund’s Holiday appeal, holiday giving and annual event.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Salary Range: $50K - $55K, based on education and experience. 

What We Look For:

  • Proven experience in grant writing and grant management, including a successful track record of securing grants from public agencies and private foundations.
  • Familiarity with grant application processes, guidelines, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong research skills to identify potential grant opportunities and stay updated on funding trends and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with grantors and partners.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for crafting persuasive grant proposals and reports.
  • Ability to effectively communicate Lund's history, impact, and programs to various stakeholders.
  • Project management skills to oversee the grant application process, ensuring timely submissions and compliance with grant requirements.
  • Knowledge of the nonprofit sector, including an understanding of the challenges and opportunities specific to nonprofit organizations is preferred.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to measure and communicate program impact effectively.
  • Ability to think strategically and align grant-seeking efforts with Lund's mission and goals.
  • Collaboration skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with colleagues in the Development office and across the organization.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and grantor requirements.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to and understanding of Lund's mission, values, and the populations it serves.
  • Ability to manage multiple grant applications and reporting deadlines effectively and simultaneously in a busy environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be able to demonstrate each of the following:
    • Ability to maintain a valid VT Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation is required; occasional statewide travel may be required.
    • Upon a conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background check.
    • Regular attendance is necessary and essential to meeting the expectations of the job.
    • Ability to consistently demonstrate Lund’s values of collaboration, compassion, empathy, integrity, and respect.
    • Ability to understand and comply with operational standards, safety requirements, and employee policies.
