The Holter Museum of Art is searching for an energetic, organized, resourceful individual as a part time Development/Fundraising Assistant. This person will assist the Executive Director and other staff members in their Development and Fundraising responsibilities. This person must have excellent writing skills, be a self-starter, capable of working in a collaborative environment, and know how to use a variety of technology and office equipment adeptly. This position will also be the primary contact and coordinator for the Holter's Annual Gala.
Development Assistant Job Description
Job Summary
The Development Assistant works in conjunction with the Executive Director, Holter Board, and staff to advance the Holter’s vision and mission by providing administrative assistance and managing some fundraising and development responsibilities of the museum’s comprehensive fundraising and development program.
Job Responsibilities
The Development Assistant will provide important administrative support to the Executive Director, Marketing Director, and the Gala Lead.
· Provide Executive Director and Holter board with adequate support and tools to engage successfully in fundraising
· Assist the Marketing Director and Executive Director with donor campaign communications
- Assist with the coordination of the museum's Annual Gala
· Assist with grant writing for programs
· Assist with grant reports
· Assist with the organization & implementation of fundraising events
· Assist the ED with community outreach and partnership outreach to strengthen community support and programs
· Assist the Executive Director in preparation for Board meetings
· Assist with the implementation of internal events
· Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of responsibility and requirement of the position
Job Skills & Qualifications
· Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience
· Strong writing skills and the ability to articulate information verbally and int written form to a variety of audiences
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple interruptions throughout the day
· Excellent organizational, administrative, and project management skills
· 1-5 years of grant writing and reporting experience
· 1-2 years of event planning and/or assisting with event planning

· An individual with a passion for the museum’s mission and for connecting the public with art
· A collaborative team player with the ability to work with a diverse group of staff members and volunteers
· An astute, sensitive, and tactful listener; comfortable receiving input from many sources; someone who is willing to accept guidance
· A hands-on individual with a sense of curiosity, strong work ethic, high energy level, and an enthusiastic and passionate approach to our work
· Ability to change priorities and tasks based on last minute changes and needs that develop quickly
· Ability to work independently and problem solve, but also know when to ask for assistance when needed
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred
· 1-3 years of related experience in a non-profit organization; experience in a Development or Communications role preferred;
