The Developer Compliance Operations team ensures that 3rd-party applications integrated with our platforms are high-quality and trustworthy. Working closely with other Meta teams, we investigate and detect apps and developers not compliant with our Platform Policies. We are seeking an experienced investigator to investigate threats to users and our platforms, advance investigative methods, and use innovative approaches to address a variety of challenging privacy, integrity, and compliance issues. You'll leverage data and investigative expertise to identify and mitigate risk in collaboration with a number of cross functional stakeholders including Policy, Legal, Engineering, and other Investigations teams.
- Investigate complex cases using a variety of methodologies (on and off platform) to understand how abuse is occurring and attribute the person(s) responsible. Identify enforcement strategies to mitigate harm in the current case and from similar abuse.
- Document findings in high quality and concise investigative reports while managing sensitive or confidential data.
- Conduct research to identify broader patterns of abuse, and develop strategies to prevent and disrupt threats at scale that can impact our API products.
- Manage, coordinate, and/or support projects to improve investigative or business processes as needed.
- Contribute to setting long-term goals and identify opportunities to improve our efficiency and effectiveness as a team.
- Build strong, collaborative cross-functional relationships with Product, Policy, Legal, and Privacy, among other teams.
- This role may require on-call shifts outside of normal business hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in investigations, intelligence, trust and safety, or similar analytical roles
- Experience drafting analytical reports and documenting technical and non-technical evidence and findings
- Experience managing programs and building consensus among technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of SQL or other data analytics programming languages
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: data misuse, APIs, privacy, mobile apps, 3rd party risk management
- Experience with open source investigation techniques and familiarity with a variety of internet research tools
