Honolulu Site is in search of a Detail Planner to assist in a wide assortment of planning functions. Primarily we are looking for a strong background in detail planning to assist in product structuring new and existing work. Good understanding of manufacturing and routing Revs is a must. A wide variety of discipline knowledge a plus. Must be self-motivated and can work with minimal oversight. This planning team will work with and coordinate efforts with Advance Planning, Engineering, Quality, Program office and the Alteration Installation Team. Planner will be instrumental in defining new offsite planning processes and procedures in their unique environment. This position will extend further than detail planning duties as needed.
A wide range of experience is preferred, to include as many planning functions as possible. Candidate must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word. Microsoft PowerPoint, Access and Project proficiency is desirable. Knowledge of planning functions for multiple disciplines desireable such as Structural, Sheet metal, Mechanical, Piping, and Electrical.
Responsibilities include:
- Defining product structure and routing for new work
- Coordinating and chairing planning meeting for all projects
- Working with Trades and Program Office for build plan strategies
- Working with Quonset Point and Groton Operations and Off-Sites (Puget, King’s Bay) to ensure material supports ongoing work.
- Represent Planning in status meetings
- Participate in the development of new planning processes and update procedures accordingly
- Provide mentoring and training to others as required
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a minimum of 2 years detail planning experience
- Must be proficient in MRP II and Electronic Desktop
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading submarine prints and drawings
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills

- College Degree
- Experience using TeamCenter
- Experience using Microsoft Project Access
