Visit McMinnville has an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to join our award-winning team as our Destination Development Manager.
Visit McMinnville is a Destination Management Organization. Our vision is to “cultivate the visitor economy to enhance the quality of life in our community.” We are a non-profit economic development organization working on behalf of the City of McMinnville. Our mission is to “guide the development of McMinnville as a year-round destination, responsibly promote its assets, and enrich the visitor experience while supporting livability for locals.”
The Destination Development Manager is a critical position for the organization and the city's broader economic development efforts. We seek a positive individual with strong leadership qualities and experience building strong relationships.
This position is integrally involved in the day-to-day execution of Visit McMinnville’s extensive communications and stewardship programs. It has a high level of contact outside the organization and represents the McMinnville visitor economy throughout the local community and region. The Destination Development Manager is responsible for managing stewardship projects.
Primary goals of this position are:
- Program Management - Lead efforts to steward quality of life and boost the economy by deploying and supporting Destination Development initiatives.
- Partnership Development- Cultivate and maintain community and industry relationships to expand the positive impact of Destination Development programs.
This position entails a high level of independent work and requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and expertise across a broad spectrum of disciplines. In addition, we are looking for a professional with a work history demonstrating leadership and project management experience, with priority given to Destination Development work. Supervisory experience is required, along with vital networking and organizational skills. This position reports to the President/CEO and supervises one position.
The Destination Development Manager role is exempt, with a starting salary range of $70-$75,000 per year. Our benefit program includes medical and dental insurance, paid time off, and a 401k with a 6% match.
This position is full-time and works on-site in our office in McMinnville. Knowledge of Yamhill County is preferred. We prioritize creativity, productivity, positivity, and work-life balance in service of our community!
