Desktop Engineer
What does a successful Desktop Engineer do at Fiserv?
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Desktop Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Desktop Engineer, you will play a critical role in diagnosing and resolving complex software, hardware, and technology-related issues. Your responsibilities will include Tier 3 escalations, collaborating with various teams, researching and implementing new technologies, and contributing to our End User Computing (EUC) strategic roadmap. What You Will Do:
  • Collaborate and Innovate: Work closely with EUC Architecture, Operations, Network, and Security teams to drive innovation and enhance our End User Computing environment.
  • Research and Test: Stay at the forefront of technology by researching and testing new tools, processes, and solutions to keep our systems cutting-edge.
  • Operational Excellence: Address gaps in operational support workflows and maintain high standards of accuracy and quality in all tasks.
  • Automation: Contribute to the design and automation of the Windows Desktop environment, creating and maintaining automated deployments and software updates.
  • Documentation: Keep our knowledge base up to date by creating and maintaining user guides, admin guides, and other documentation.
  • Problem-Solving: Act as an escalation point for advanced software installation package distribution and troubleshooting for EUC Operations.
  • Continued Learning: Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth and development, staying current with emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Standard Procedures: Create and enforce standard operating procedures for all implemented solutions.
  • Incident Resolution: Conduct effective investigations, diagnoses, and root cause analyses of incidents and problems.
  • Analytical Skills: Utilize advanced analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills, with a resourceful mindset when needed.

What You Must Have:
  • 7+ years of Windows 10/11 engineering experience with over 25,000 endpoints.
  • 7+ years of experience with Active Directory and AD Group Policy.
  • 5+ years of experience in scripting and PowerShell.
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud services/systems, including VMware Horizon, Citrix, AWS Workspaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Windows 365.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Security, including SSL certificates, TLS configuration, SMB code signing, and PKI infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of network protocols and packet analysis tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark.
  • Experience with Sysinternals Utilities: ProcDump, Process Explorer, Process Monitor, PsPing, PsLogList, PsService.
  • Conceptual knowledge of Zero Trust pillars and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of CyberArk Endpoint Privilege Manager.
  • Knowledge of Tanium.
  • Experience with Microsoft Autopilot, Defender, Intune, and SCCM/MECM.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What Is Nice to Have:
  • ITIL v3 Foundations Certification is preferred.
  • Professional certifications in technology from vendors such as Microsoft, VMWare, Cisco, or related, or equivalent work experience with technology from these vendors are preferred.
  • Knowledge of macOS, Jamf, and O365.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business.
  • Knowledge of Zscaler ZTNA.

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, New York or Washington.
