Design Engineering Specialist

Job Description
Cyient has an opening for an Outside Plant (OSP) Designer, responsible for OSP fiber optic work orders in the greater DFW area. You will have previous OSP engineering and field data analysis experience. You will have experience designing multiple OSP telecom projects simultaneously, including ASE, FTTx, CRAN, F1, and BAU projects, and be experienced with client software systems, such as ARAMIS (BST-CAD/Opti), MIC, JAM and CFAS. You will report directly to the Section Manager in the Allen, TX office.
You Will:

• Design OSP copper and fiber designs and submit for approval.
• Utilize client design software for create/QC/finalize design projects
• Analyze field data to assist and finalize your design specifications.

You'll Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree (preferred)
• Have 2+ years of experience in the Telecommunications Outside plant engineering or construction industry.
• Have 2+ years of experience with the following design programs ARAMIS (BST-CAD/Opti), MIC, JAM and CFAS.
• Have 2+ years of experience of OSP Design and construction of Outside Plant Copper and Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried, BICS) and manhole and conduit designs.
• Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2), 5G/Smart City high-level designs is preferred.
• Knowledge of permitting processes (highway, railroad, city and county) are also desired.
