Titeflex in Springfield, MA is searching for an experienced DesignEngineer to join the team. We are seeking a motivated hands-on Engineer to join our aerospace engineering team as a Hose Engineer. In this role, you will work under the guidance of senior engineers and be responsible for assisting in the build, design, development, and testing of fluoropolymer hoses for fluid conveyance applications within the aerospace industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities ·
- Assist in conducting research and analysis to understand the requirements and challenges of fluid conveyance in the aerospace industry
- Utilize a hands-on approach to design and development, from inception through production, and product launch
- Contribute to the design and development of innovative fluoropolymer hose solutions that meet aerospace standards, including durability, temperature resistance, pressure ratings, and chemical compatibility
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hoses into larger fluid systems, supporting senior engineers in problem-solving and design optimization
- Utilize CAD software to assist in creating 3D models and engineering drawings of hose designs, considering factors like dimensional tolerances and manufacturing feasibility
- Support in performing testing, including burst pressure tests, leak tests, and environmental testing, to validate the performance and reliability of hose designs
- Assist in analyzing test data, identifying areas for improvement, and proposing design modifications under the guidance of senior engineers
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in materials and contribute ideas for continuous improvement and innovation in hose design
- Collaborate with suppliers and support in the selection of appropriate materials and manufacturing processes for hose production
- Adhere to aerospace regulations, industry standards, and quality management systems throughout the design and development process
- Working conditions are 25% office and 75% manufacturing environment
- Must have knowledge of MS Office software to include Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Registrations - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Basic knowledge of materials and their properties, with a keen interest in materials science and its application in aerospace engineering. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for creating 3D models and engineering drawings is a plus.
