Job Summary:
We are looking for a Design Engineer II to join our team, based in Roseville, Minnesota. Reporting to the Engineering Manager the Design Engineer II will be responsible for the conceptualization, engineering design and specification, and evaluation of new product concepts, platforms and technologies.
What You'll Do:
- Develop products from conceptualization to launch
- Collaborates with Manufacturing, Tooling, Test, and Quality Engineers in support of NPI
- Interacts with customers and suppliers as needed to assess new technology needs
- Leads or assists in efforts to resolve product performance issues
- Adheres to all safety regulations
- Demonstrates support of CPC core values
- Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs

- Strong verbal and written communications skills required; must be able to communicate effectively will internal departments, vendors and customers
- Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Cad proficiency – PTC Creo, Solidworks, etc.
- Competence in rapid prototyping and manufacturing methods
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Demonstrated history of design innovation
- Energetic and enthusiastic approach toward the definition of new products, complimented by an educated and realistic business outlook
- 1 - 5 years’ experience in design of mass produced products such as automotive, appliances, toys, etc.
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in mechanical engineering, materials science, or another related field.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- Advanced technical degree
- 2 years’ experience in the design and development of plastic and/or elastomeric components.
- Basic understanding of Finite Element Analysis and/or Computational Fluid Dynamics
- Design experience with fluid handling components for medical applications.
- Design and manufacturing experience with silicone components.
- Design and manufacturing experience with polymer membranes and/or films.
- Demonstrated history of working directly with customers to translate their needs into innovative new products.
- Familiarity with ISO13485.
