Job Summary:

The Design Assurance Coordinator (DAC) shall conduct monitoring that will demonstrate the adequacy to and the proper application of the customer's procedural rules/documents, either directly applied or indirectly, through company procedures demonstrated equivalent to the customer procedures. The Design Assurance function, achieved through the engine program's organization and control of the design process, ensures customer Design Assurance requirements are satisfied. The engine program designates a Design Assurance Focal Point who fulfils the functional role of a Design Assurance Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for establishing, maintaining and updating the Design Organization Interface Document and prepare presentations and presents program status, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, etc. at regularly scheduled program review.
  • Ensure availability of latest issue of the Interface Document to all authorized signatories within the design organization presenting the main changes from the previous issue.
  • Work with the focal point and advisor on the Design Assurance activities performed and ensure coordination with the customer DOA Supplier Control Managers.
  • Maintain the authorized signatory list and execute 3-year surveillance plan.
  • Provide inputs, upon customer Design Organization Approval (DOA) Independent Monitoring request, for the DOA annual report.
  • Assist in facilitating the assessment and monitoring (audits, sample checks, reviews, etc.) by the customer and the Aviation Authorities in the company and at its design suppliers. Including identifying and mitigating potential risks to prevent requirements shortfalls.
  • Collaborate with functional leaders and engineers across the engine programs to manage project resources both face to face and through multiple electronic forms.
  • Organize and manage multiple projects and programs and demonstrate effective prioritization and implementation skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years of experience in Engineering or Compliance or 3+ years’ experience with an Advance Degree
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
  • Compliance background (auditing, regulatory, customer and or supplier requirements)

  • Self-motivated and self-starter working equally well in independent and team environments. ​
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Well-organized and have excellent attention to detail and thoroughness with accomplishing tasks from inception through completion in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization.
  • Project management and project scheduling
  • Comfortable with the use of document/records management, and web-based tools
  • MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
