Job Description
Pine Technical and Community College seeks an adjunct Applied Engineering instructor to teach a Reverse Engineering course. We are seeking an individual dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. The candidate will have experience in Statics, Prototyping, Reverse Engineering, and CAD, among other disciplines of engineering. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at PTCC are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The college is committed to reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds among its administrators, faculty, and staff.
Required Qualifications
Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in industrial technology, prototype engineering technology, industrial design, or related engineering/technology field of study.
Occupational Experience Requirement:
Four full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience in Design and Fabrication. Related experience in areas such as CNC (computer numerical control) machining, 3D software (Solidworks, Pro-E, etc.), traditional machining (lathes, milling machine), finishing workshops (new paints, etc.), rapid prototyping (3 dimensional printing).
Recency Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.

- These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)
- ** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the postsecondary level, preferably at a two-year college
- Prior online experience using the D2L Brightspace platform or equivalent information management system
- Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction and continuous improvement
- Ability to work with a diverse student body with a broad range of interests and abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and peers
- Experience in curriculum development
- Effective planning, organizational, and interpersonal skills
