Form of workMoog Aircraft Group is hiring a Design and Development Process Assurance Engineer for an onsite position in Torrance, CA. This position offers a 9/80 work schedule.
Reporting to the Manager of Development Process Assurance (DPA), you will administer the Quality Development Process Assurance Program for software, electronic hardware, and test equipment software systems.
This program is applicable to all domestic, international, and supplier locations of the Moog Aircraft, Space, and Defense Groups. You will audit and review engineering development work products and activities on assigned projects to verify compliance to established business management standards and processes.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science with 3+ years of experience in the field of Quality Assurance , regulatory compliance or a closely related field.
- Proficient in audit techniques to identify specific deviations from established processes
- Working knowledge of Engineering Development Process activities and outputs including Configuration Management, Document/Drawing practices, Problem Reporting, and Corrective Action, Requirements Specification, Design Documentation, Validation & Verification, etc.
- U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualification:
- Knowledge of DO-178, DO-254 and/or ARP4754 is a plus
- Knowledge of NASA Procedural Requirements, NPR 7150.2 and AS9115A also a plus
Responsibilities
- Perform audits and reviews of Engineering Development Process performance and work products (documents, data, etc.) across domestic, international, and supplier locations ensuring a high degree of integrity at minimum cost. This includes tailoring of department standard audit and review tools to specific projects assuring compliance with Moog Procedures to Military, FAA, EASA, and industrial software development requirements.
- Identify variances from established standards and processes and track problem resolution to closure. You will facilitate compliance with Engineering standards through several levels of requests for corrective action. You will identify potential project problems and assuring that they are addressed.
- Collect data on assigned projects and report to project management on a periodic basis to provide insight into project performance and potential problems. Data is also provided to management to be aggregated to provide insight into overall process conformance.
- Train and educate teams in the tenets of Quality Development Process Assurance methods/ requirements.
- Frequent contact and coordination with personnel both inside and outside our organization, maintaining a close working relationship with Design and Development Engineers, Engineering Management, Quality Assurance Managers, and Program Management.
- Identify areas of improvement to related business processes and recommend process change.
- Travel to domestic and international locations to review programs and monitor performance.

Salary:
The base pay range for this opportunity is $76,980 - $135,408 per year.
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
