We're actively seeking a talented Derivatives Trading Associate to join our Derivatives Portfolio Management Team in Newport Beach, CA (hybrid work schedule).
As a Derivatives Trading Associate, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by supporting the Derivatives Portfolio Management Team in the execution of the Company's hedging programs. This team sits within the Pacific Life Investments organization, working with our internal product area partners to develop hedge strategies consistent with product needs and the Company's overall risk management goals, and with the dealer community on the execution of those strategies.
How you will make an impact:
  • Assist in the development, monitoring and execution of Pacific Life's hedge programs
  • Work closely with the Derivatives Portfolio Management Team on the pricing and execution of trades across asset classes, including but not limited to equity options, futures and swaps, interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, bond forwards and fixed income futures
  • Work closely with the Derivatives Operations, Collateral and Accounting teams to ensure proper maintenance and monitoring of positions supporting our hedge programs
  • Work closely with our product area partners on the attribution and improvement of existing hedge strategies, the development of new strategies and on pricing of new products
  • Build and maintain relationships with derivatives broker/dealers to ensure proper trade execution and identify opportunities for partnership
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal reporting and marketing purposes

The experience you will bring:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably with coursework in mathematics, finance and/or accounting
  • 6-8 years capital markets experience, preferably with strong knowledge of derivatives markets and/or insurance products
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg and Calypso preferred.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$159,660.00 - $195,140.00
