```Duties```
A Deputy Sheriff protects life and property in county jurisdiction, patrolling assigned area to maintain order, enforce laws and provide assistance to citizens as needed; responds to reports of misdemeanors or felonies and performs preliminary observations and investigations; takes offense reports, gather evidence and secure scene of crimes and maintains traffic.
Apprehends suspected law violators, performs arrests, searches, restrains and/or confines arrested persons; transports person(s) in custody, assuming responsibility for discipline and safety.
Serves as officer of the court in serving warrants and other legal documents; provides court testimony as required.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:
MUST have OPOTA Certification
- In-depth knowledge of law enforcement procedures, practices, and techniques
- CPR certification to provide emergency medical assistance when required
- Proficiency in conflict management techniques to deescalate tense situations
- Familiarity with militarized equipment and tactics for specialized operations
- Leadership abilities to supervise and guide other law enforcement personnel
- Experience in criminal investigation methods to gather evidence and solve cases
- Proficient in surveillance techniques for monitoring suspicious activities
- Knowledge of loss prevention strategies to prevent thefts and maintain security
