Position Description: 501 (c)6 Association seeking an individual for the Deputy Director (DD) role. This person will report directly to and support the CEO. This individual will be responsible for compliance, direct marketing efforts, and other staff functions as assigned by the CEO. This individual will be highly involved in the Association's legislative efforts, learn Association, subsidiary, and multiple company processes, and gradually assume more responsibility in the Association. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to foster coordination and cooperation amongst a diverse set of grassroots and advocacy organizations. Facilitate meetings, materials, and planning for various association meetings and meetings with outside organizations. Will be able to adapt to last-minute meetings that may be called. The ideal candidate will be the association's general counsel, advising the CEO and Association on legal issues and reviewing contracts. The DD will do much of the reporting for the Association. The ideal candidate will have worked in a health care association, insurance company, hospital system, or a physicians practice. The DD will need to be able to flex as needed for different last-minute projects or activities. The DD will put together reports and some research for the association related to legal responsibilities.REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAITS
Have a JD degree with an undergraduate degree in business or finance OR, have a masters degree in business administration
Minimum 5 years experience in healthcare or an association, preferably healthcare
Expertise in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software preferred
Past leadership roles in an Association or as an attorney for association
Some IT and social media work experience
Prior lobbying or legislative staff experience
Strong organizational, administrative, and financial management skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills including ability to analyze and interpret financial reports, government regulation and legislation
Must be dependable, ethical, reliable, thorough, and willing to work onsite to be immediately available
Be outgoing and able to work with many different personalities outside the office
Leadership, Nonprofit Organizations, Project and Grants Management, Public Speaking, Business Management
Demonstrated aptitude for managing staff, projects or budgets
Ability to flex communication style to multiple cultural environments
Pay will be commensurate with experience and with comparable DEPUTY DIRECTOR positions. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, Flexible Spending Account, generous 401(k) plan and other benefits. $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annually
