ACET is seeking a Depot Level Manufacturing Airframes / Structural QA at our Havelock, NC location.

General Position Description:

ACET is seeking an airframes / structures manufacturing Quality Assurance (QA) inspector working in a team-oriented environment, preforming vendor part QA inspection and acceptance of structural manufacturing parts in a timely manner prioritizing urgent needs and time sensitive tasking requirements.

Perform visual and precision measurements tool inspection on structural parts utilizing engineering drawing, blueprints and work order instructions, technical specifications, ACET QMS QA procedures and instructions and other related documents. Inspects structural parts, components and assemblies for manufacturing build defects that do not meet specification. Uses predetermined methods of inspection and acceptance using blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, precision meters, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, and inspection instructions.

Accepts, rejects, or reworks defective structural parts, components, and assemblies.

Conduct conformity / first article inspections to ensure compliance with internal and external vendor manufacturing.

Work with engineering team on design, prototype manufacturing, inspections, and suggestive feedback as corrective action plans.

Skills Required for Qualification:

  • Candidate must have eight (8) years’ structural and airframes experience in aircraft structures and or manufacturing background.
  • FAA Airframe & Power plants (A&P) certification and relevant civilian aircraft experience may be substituted.
  • Ability to perform any level of rework with little or no supervision, and the ability to train others on re-work methods.
  • Extensive knowledge and proficiency of precision measuring devices. i.e., micrometer, ball gauges, dial calipers, scales, and all other calibrated devices.
  • Ability to drill, ream, and prepare close tolerance fastener holes up to within ten-thousandths of an inch tolerance for subsequent fastening.
  • Extensive knowledge in and experience in aviation hardware installation practices to include but not limited to (rivets, hiloks, jo-bolts, screws, washer, nuts, etc.).
  • Comprehensive background in aviation airframes and structural inspections.
  • Must be able to utilize blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers’ drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties.
  • Required demonstrate basic sheet metal functions to include but not limited to drilling, close tolerance hole reaming, riveting, installing hi-locks, huck-bolt and cherry max fasteners, making and installing panels, skin patches and installing chin bubbles.
  • Mandatory to read and write, interpret, and comply with aircraft maintenance procedures, manuals, specifications, directives, guides, and forms used on the job.
  • Demonstrate an operational knowledge of aircraft, aircraft systems, and component parts.
  • Ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately as required by job assignment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (word, excel, PowerPoint) with working knowledge and ability to use CAD and Step Files.
  • Obligated to pass drug test as required.
  • Must be able to pass fit for work physical as required.
  • Requirement to lift and maneuver 50 lbs.
  • Secret Clearance is required for this position.
