This position is responsible for the portion of One Florida Bank’s operations related to deposits. Responsibilities include managing budgets and employees, as well as developing and implementing various plans to support strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Managing, develop, and enforcing deposit-related policies to keep in line with regulatory and bank guidelines.
  • Acts as liaison with examiners and auditors.
  • Manages and trains operation employees and prepares annual performance review.
  • Analyzes, develops, and implements risk monitoring controls for payments-related products and services.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support customer service staff with Deposit Operations inquiries. Review exception reports and provides written explanation to management.
  • Perform operational and administrative tasks such as incoming and outgoing wire transfer, ACH transactions (CD Interest, Loan Payment, Cash Management, Returns, etc.), research, exception, reclamation by other institution or government, and adjustment processing on deposit accounts.
  • Manage foreign currency services including currency orders, wires, and cash letters.
  • Processes Non-posted, Suspense, NSF, Chargebacks, Reg-E claims, Proof Over/Short, etc.
  • Develop and provide deposit-related reports for Board Meeting (Accounts Activities, Overdrafts, Branch Deposit Trend, Remote Deposit Capture, Cash Management, etc.
  • Processes and responds to garnishments, levies, summons, subpoenas, and other legal demands Handles all fraudulent transaction related to Debit Card, Check, or ACH.
  • Track and escheat dormant accounts.
  • Reconcile FRB and correspondent Bank accounts daily to ensure all transactions are processed accurately.
  • Review appropriate reports to identify customers who may be kiting suspects, repeat overdrafts, or customers that continually draw against uncollected funds.
  • Work with senior management and department managers to determine actions necessary to protect the Bank against possible loss.
  • Keep current with new and improved technologies for the overall operating efficiency of the Bank as it relates to Deposit Operations.
  • Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure management is informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of the Bank objectives and goals.
  • Ensure all confidential information in the work area is properly secured each day.
  • Maintain privacy of customer account information.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5-10 years related work experience

Language and Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members
  • A thorough understanding and application of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the work of Deposit Operations
  • Ability to effectively manage time as related to daily tasks
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high-pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer and Office Equipment Skills

  • Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel)
  • Word processing software (Microsoft Word)
  • Other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, One Note, PowerPoint)
  • Copier/Scanner
