Deposit Operations Assistant
This position provides support to ensure FCSB Deposit Operations and transactional services are operating in a manner to support organizational growth, operating efficiency, and customer service excellence. The Operations Assistant is responsible for activities in support of daily department operations, processing, adjusting and balancing activities, and providing excellent internal and external customer service.
Position Duties:
- Process EIM stop payments, NSF, charge back, holds, credit back adjustments to customer accounts and mail notices to customers
- Research, analyze, and adjust non-posted items, including demand deposit, savings, CD/IRA accounts, and general ledgers
- Reconcile construction draws
- Process incoming and outgoing Domestic and International wires.
- Respond to incoming phone inquiries and provide general support to various internal team members and external bank customers
- Act as escalation point to ensure timely responses to advanced customer issues related to Deposit Operations
- Sort and deliver interoffice mail, business statements, and reports
- Adhere to proper scanning, storage, retention and ongoing maintenance requirement guidelines
- Provide assistance to Deposit Operations staff as needed
- Perform back-up duties for the BSA Associate, including BSA monitoring, CTR preparation, deposit verifications, large item reviews and returns, and mobile deposit reviews
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while prioritizing fluctuating workloads and meeting time sensitive deadlines
- Maintain a positive and caring demeanor for customers and colleagues consistent with FCSBs mission and philosophy
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, both in writing and verbally
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and ability to learn new operating platforms
- Strong work ethic, detail oriented and organization skills
- Possess inquisitive nature, high energy and self-motivation
- Ability to stay up-to-date on related banking, state and federal policies and procedures, and specifically internal operating policies and procedures
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma and at least 3 years of experience in banking/financial services or relatable industry
- Prior experience working in a banking back office environment and/or with bookkeeping transaction functions preferable
