Job Summary:
The Deployment Engineer Lead will be responsible for the site surveys, deployment and testing of network security hardware and software stacks at CONUS and OCONUS Air Force sites. They will lead teams of Engineers performing tasks on-site and act as an escalation point to support troubleshooting, issue resolution and risk management.
Job Responsibilities:
Oversee site surveys, installations and testing, and escalate issues to Air Force site personnel, MAJCOM AOs, PMO, and others.
Ensure Contract Deliverable Line Items (CDRLs) are created and delivered IAW the Data Item Description (DID) and Statement of Work (SOW)
Provide guidance and support to Network Engineers
Report status updates to internal and external management
Assign teams and manage travel schedules for both CONUS and OCONUS on-site work.
Coordinate on-site support with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vendors and teammates.
Review documentation such as Site Survey Reports, As-Built drawings, Test Reports, etc. and work collaboratively with the Air Force to adjudicate comments and feedback.
Support Change Management process and provide input to installation and cutover plans.
Minimum Qualifications:
15 years of relevant network engineering and implementation experience
Proven record of successfully overseeing network deployment projects in DoD environments
Experience with customer interfacing, site surveys and managing customer needs.
Knowledge of Dell VxRails, EMC Unity and VMWare (or similar) products
Travel up to 25%
Active Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
Experience overseeing network deployments for the Air Force
Knowledge of Air Force deployment processes including Change Management, visit requests, GFE management, network access requests, DD1149 and 747 forms, etc.
CompTIA Security
VMware VCP certification
