Squirrel Hill Health Center (SHHC), a dynamic and growing Federally Qualified Health Center in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a full-time Dental Practice Coordinator.
SUMMARY
The Dental Practice Coordinator serves as an active member of the Dental Team structure at SHHC by supporting the providers with patient management and administrative support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor dental schedule for cancellations or other openings. Works with front office staff to ensure all openings in the dental schedule are filled.
Send appointment confirmation emails 2 days prior to appointment.
Verify patient’s insurance one week prior to scheduled appointment. Knowledge of all insurances and insurance plan coverage required.
Obtain prior authorizations for all dental insurance procedures and record information quickly and accurately.
Coordinate financial payment plans and keep timely and accurate records.
Coordinate sliding fee patient eligibility.
Make appointments for patients according to protocols.
Monitor “Wait List.”
Retrieve Patient Portal messages and ensure prompt follow-up.
Work collaboratively with the COO, dental and medical team, and other staff to ensure smooth and cohesive operations throughout SHHC.
Maintain confidentiality and is compliant with HIPAA and all SHHC Policies & Procedures.
Coordinate dental referrals.
Assisting Billing Department dental related concerns.
Assist in getting patients enrolled in emergency Medicaid.
Maintains current knowledge in dental coding and guidelines.
Required to be on-site.
Adherence to remote work policies and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
All CDC recommended vaccines, including COVID 19, required.
Prior experience in a dental office setting.
Knowledge and experience with dental office operations, including efficient scheduling, managing waitlists, reducing broken appointment rates, billing & coding, A/R collections.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to deal effectively with the public.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Electronic Health Record, and related systems.
Knowledge of a second language preferred.
