Key Details:

  • Title:Dental Interpreter
  • Pay: 21.06+ per hour depending on experience
  • Schedule: Full-time; Monday – Friday; variable 8-hour shifts between 8 am – 6:30 pm
  • Location: 18633 SE Stark St., Suite 401 – Portland, OR 97233

Who You Are: You are an organizational wizard with top-notch interpersonal and communication skills. With a keen eye for detail and a knack for problem-solving, you’re a critical thinker and a tech-savvy multitasker. Your mission is to ensure patients receive the best dental care possible. Additional qualifications include:

  • Certification as a Medical Interpreter, with a focus on dental interpretation
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Knowledge of dental terminology in English and Spanish
  • Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Solid attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office 365
  • HIPAA certification preferred

Your Role: As a Dental Interpreter, you'll be an essential part of our dental care team, ensuring clear communication between providers and patients. Your duties will include:

Interpretation and Translation:

  • Providing high-quality dental interpretation during in-person dentist/patient appointments
  • Accurately interpreting messages between English and Spanish, preserving the original intent and tone
  • Translating written dental material as needed

Patient Care Support:

  • Assisting with the translation of dental forms and educational materials
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
  • Enhancing patient-provider communication and relationships

Wallace Team Member:

  • Supporting the dental team with administrative tasks as needed
  • Maintaining a positive working relationship with all staff members
  • Participating in Continuous Quality Improvement activities
  • *This position may involve rotating with other interpreters to support both dental and medical departments.
