Position Summary:
Courteously and professionally care for patients and visitors in person and on the phone by accurately confirming and verifying their insurance information. Kindly direct, schedule, and present or request information from or for patients and visitors. Provide exemplary patient service and positive team encouragement in all interactions.
Position Reports To: Operations
Essential Functions:
- Call or login to insurance portals to verify and update patient insurance frequencies, benefits, coverage and enter that information into Open Dental.
- Learn and recall relevant insurance plan information to answer team and patient questions and accurately present treatment estimates.
- Create neat and accurate plan information
- Verify accurate billing, demographic, and insurance information.
- Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous manner. Use computer and communication methods to inform providers and support-team in order to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Schedule, cancel and reschedule appointments. Utilize organizational skills to maintain a short-call list for patients requesting an earlier appointment and for filling provider openings.
- Answer telephone, and provide outstanding and professional service with every encounter.
- Operate general office equipment.
- Collect credit card, check, or cash payments from patients using tact, kindness, and a professional approach; provide receipt.
- Ability to perform elementary math functions (addition/subtraction/percentages).
- Maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively in English; verbally and in writing. (able to communicate in Spanish a plus)

Physical Demands:

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 33 – 40 per week
