Delta Dental of Wisconsin is currently seeking a dedicated individual to work alongside our Dental Hygiene Outreach Coordinator to support the work and fulfill the mission of Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation (DDWIF), including dental assisting at the Smile Club. This role is primarily focused on customer service and administrative support for Smile Club clinic operations (approximately 75%) with delivery of direct Dental Care secondary (approximately 25%).
This hybrid position is located at our headquarters in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Dental Hygiene Outreach and Education Coordinator, and on occasion our volunteer dentists, in the delivery of dental services at the Smile Club
- Enter Smile Club payments by insurers or state agencies in the Dentrix system and balance with finance
- Maintain excellent record-keeping for DDWIF
- Assist the Dental Hygiene Outreach and Education Coordinator through the following activities:
- Coordinate scheduling and patient treatment with volunteer providers and staff to ensure optimal use of clinical sites
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws
- Review, record and update patient health history; record vital signs, medications, and treatment of patients
- Ensure patient records at outreach sites are recorded, updated, and properly secured
- Educate community groups on Smile Club direct service programs and patient eligibility
- Perform patient follow-up and advocacy calls when indicated
- Practice and maintain proper infectious disease control procedures at sites and with Foundation equipment, including appropriately maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets
- Ensure proper billing for the Foundation’s outreach dental services where appropriate
- Provide oral health education to organizations, schools, groups, and businesses
- Order and manage dental supply inventory, maintain an efficient and clean Smile Club clinic
- Refer individuals to other dental providers for services, when applicable
- Manage Outlook task list, SharePoint Site, Smile Club shared email, etc.
- Meeting minute recorder for Boys and Girls Club and DDWIF meetings
- Assist at Smile Club events, including large screening events
- Professionally represent DDWI and DDWIF at charitable events in Wisconsin
- Assist in data collection for Smile Club reports to audiences like the Foundation Board of Directors
