Dental Assistant
Are you an experienced Dental Assistant, or someone that is interested in on-the-job training to become a Registered Dental Assistant?
Located in the heart of Harrison, Arkansas, Bartlett Family Dentistry is looking for the right person to complete our team. We are a fun, friendly, fast paced office with the latest technology. We need someone that is eager to learn and can work at a fast pace.
Under the direct supervision of the lead Dental Assistant and the Dentist, the Dental Assistant will serve to assist the Dentist with various clinical procedures. Maintain the confidentiality of all patient, client, and facility information at all times, both while on and off duty
General Duties:
- Prepare instruments and materials
- Thoroughly clean, sterilize and maintain functioning instruments and equipment, stock and prepare inventory on operatory equipment and dental supplies
- Greet patients in the reception area and escort patients to operatory
- Review and record medical and dental history, vital signs as needed, and review next treatment visits for patients.
- Set up for appropriate x-rays and instruments; take patient x-rays (Arkansas x-ray certification required within the first 45 days of employment)
- Assist with various procedures including but not limited to: charting, pouring impressions, fabrication of mouth guards, temporary crowns, various dental lab tasks, and other chairside duties
- Explain, as necessary, dental treatment or procedures to the patient
- Deliver oral hygiene instruction in accordance with protocol
- Provide assistance to dental department, receptionist, front, and back office, based on changing patient flow and clinic needs
- Assure completion of forms and signatures; assist in maintenance of patient records
- Qualifications
- Moderate to advanced computer skills
- Preferred, not required, dental experience
- Ability to be trained on all duties and responsibilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Enjoy meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent organization skills
Ability to work with a variety of customers, patients, and healthcare professionals in a diplomatic manner.
