Overview: Come join our team at Alabama Crown Distributing Co. as a CDL Class-A Demount Driver. Alabama Crown is a full service alcoholic beverage distributor with wholesale operations doing business in Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. We are looking for reliable and responsible CDL Class A Demount Drivers who want to be home each day and who can ensure safe and timely deliveries/pickups of our demountable cargo boxes between our Alabaster facility and other company locations throughout the state of Alabama (Mobile, Montgomery, Huntsville areas).
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to report to work at scheduled time.
- Must be able to work until assignment is completed (will comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrations hours of service regulations).
- Will be required to properly use electronic logging devices as well as completing accurate drivers logs and pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Complete drop off/pick-ups of demountable cargo boxes on a nightly basis. Routes are subject to change (start in Alabaster, but drop off/pick up location will rotate between facilities in Alabama).
- Drivers are expected to observe all federal and state traffic laws and drive with caution to avoid causing breakage and shifting merchandise.
- Position will require sitting, standing, driving, walking, pushing/pulling, climbing and reaching.
- Drivers will be required to deliver in all weather conditions unless deemed unsafe by company management.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have Class (A) CDL.
- Must be able to operate stick shift tractor.
- Must have and be able to maintain DOT Medical Certification.
- Must have and be able to maintain valid Alabama Drivers License.
- Must be able to work until assignment is completed, there is no definite quitting time (will comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administrators hours of service regulation).
- Must be able to report to work at scheduled time. Flexibility is a mus.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels in a professional manner.
- Must have a minimum of 1 year continous experience driving a tractor trailer. Either over the road or local.
- Must have experience, knowledge of how to properly use electronic logging devices as well as completing dauly pre/post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Must be able to pass background check (i.e. police backgrounds, reference checks…).
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record:
Cannot have more than 2 moving violations in last 3 years.
Cannot have DUI, reckless driving or hit-and-run in last 5 years.
