Delivery Route Driver

I’m seeking a Route Operator for a privately owned Bread route located in Norfolk. I have over 30 years Retail experience and am willing to train, so experienced is not a requirement. I’m highly interested in someone that is willing to put in effort to gain sales with a Commission compensation for their efforts. Base pay will be based off of experience however if the route is ran well, the operator will make over base pay anyway.

Requirements are as follows:

- Long hours to start, 12 to 14 hours on delivery days until you become efficient. 8 to 10 once efficient, this is a commissioned based business, the more you put in the more you get out. Early morning hours.

- Deliver 5 days per week, work back stock 2 days per week, 3 to 6 hours max. 7 days a week, again this is a commission based business.

- Must be able to obtain a DBIDS pass to get on Little Creek Amphibious base for the Commissary. Look up requirements online if you are not sure, please be able to speak to your ability to obtain this pass.

- Must have a valid Driver’s License.

- Truck not needed, but if you have your own this will increase your pay.

- Must be able to start at the depot in Suffolk and end in Suffolk. Willing to change end location if you use my Truck pending your address in relation to the route and the depot. Can end where you want if you have your own Truck.

- Must be able to use a tablet, will train what is needed to be done on the tablet but this has to be a skill you possess.

- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push, and pull. Bread trays can weight up to 30lbs. Stacks of bread can weight 250lbs but are on rollers.

- Must be able to dress professionally (business casual) and behave professionally. Our accounts allow us access and can take access away.

- Must be able to order and operate the route so that the accounts do not run out of bread.

- Must be able to control inventories on truck and transactions to and from stores.

- Must be able to communicate with store personnel and route owner to ensure accounts are well stocked and ready for business daily.

- Must be willing to accommodate requests from store personnel that pertain to the business.

- Must be able to work efficiently to meet time stops dictated by store management.

This is a 1099 position, Base Pay rate will be $500 to $700 per week pending your experience. Commission will be based on expenses, sales, and what assets I need to supply you. Women are encouraged to inquire, current 2 and past Female operators have done extremely well in this business.
