We are looking to add an enthusiastic, highly-organized Delivery Operations Managerto our team. We are seeking candidates with experience in logistics operations management, with a focus on leadership through metrics and who have strong business acumen. Proven past experience in operations management through performance metrics and scorecards is a position requirement.
Delivery Operations Manager
In this role your primary focus will be to assist the Director of CDS Operations – Mid Atlantic in overseeing the organizations direct operational activities and initiatives to meet strategic business goals. This position will play a significant role in ensuring continuity of company culture, application of company policies and execution against operational excellence.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Task
- Own all aspects of driver management, to include:
- relationship management with 1099 business owners,
- recruitment, hiring, and daily work schedules,
- demand and man-power planning in alignment with organizational needs
- driver performance management to include: execution of regular driver meetings and communication, execution of driver of the month program,
- plan and execute auditing program and work alongside field training team to ensure training and certification best practices are leveraged within Driver fleets at assigned facilities,
- and all other business required activities such as driver engagement and appreciation.
- Dispatch Management: Analyze routing efficiencies with goal to maximize cubes per truck and efficiency of daily Delivery Operations while meeting customer expectations, spearheading creative solutions and out of the box thinking for continuous improvement activities surrounding routing.
- Manage driver ops and dispatch teams to ensure daily operating requirements are met
- Work closely with Customer Service and Warehouse Operations teams to ensure good communication and coordination of activities.
- Work closely with Assistant Fleet Manager to ensure that the truck rentals and fleet management activities are proactively managed to support the business needs of the Baltimore and Reading Facilities.
- Assist the Regional Operations Manager- Mid Atlantic in ensure all contractor records are up to date with company and federal/state compliance requirements. Understanding DOT laws and regulations and ensuring drivers are following all that is required to remain fully compliant is important.
- Manage the administration of DOT Program – Taking a leadership role with the administration of CDS’ DOT driver and vehicle file, which is currently completed by Assistant Fleet Manager.
- All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum BS in Business Administration or related field or equivalent in work experience (5-7 years).
- Strong Leadership and Soft Skills
- Proven work experience in logistics operations management (3 years)
- Business development and strategy implementation experience.
- Strong problem resolution and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and listening.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple priorities and streams of information.
- Analytical, resourceful and creative hands-on problem solver.
- Excellent customer relationship management skills.
- Ability to work at a fast and accurate pace to keep up with needs of all operational departments (operations, warehouse, & customer service).
