Overview: As a Delivery Driver and Warehouse Assistant, you will be responsible for transporting goods from a warehouse to customers or businesses. This role involves ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products, maintaining the delivery vehicle, and providing excellent customer service.

Minimum requirements:

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Possess a valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with company’s insurance carrier’s standards.
• Previous experience as a Delivery Driver is preferred.
• Knowledge of local traffic and road conditions.
• Familiarity with using navigation tools or GPS devices.

Position Requirements:

• Ability to follow specific instructions and perform duties as assigned by your direct supervisor, business unit manager or Manager on Duty. Work independently, establishing priorities, managing workload and time wisely.Possess strong communication skills with associates and customers.
• Ability to work additional or flexible hours including weekends.
• Participate in safety seminars including annual driver safety training, etc.
• Basic computer knowledge skills preferred.
• Safely navigate driving conditions in adverse weather in an efficient manner.

Essential Job Functions:

• Operate a box van, pickup truck, or other assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner.
• Observe all state and local driving laws including company policies and procedures.
• Safely load, unload, and move products in a careful and efficient manner.
• Communicate with customers via phone to schedule deliveries.
• Ability to work on your feet (for long periods of time) outside, and in various elements.
• Able to frequently push or pull moderately heavy objects (approx. 50-100 lbs)
• Sit for extended periods of time, bend, twist, squat and climb in and out of a truck.
• Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
• Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly.
• Keep the delivery vehicle clean and organized.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries.
• Utilize GPS or navigation tools to navigate routes and avoid delays.
• Collect payments or obtain signatures as required.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, quantities, and any issues encountered.
• Submit delivery documentation and receipts in a timely manner.

Work Environment:

• Hot, dry, wet, and cold.
• Potential for exposure to slippery surfaces and allergy irritants.
