Basic Function
Responsible for the selection, delivery, set-up and continued maintenance of items of home Medical Equipment and related supplies. Responsible for customer/patient training in the safe and proper use of all delivered equipment and supplies in accordance with legal and regulatory guidelines as dictated by state laws and regulations. Responsible for equipment repairs.
Duties
- Perform major repairs of certain equipment; maintain parts inventory; repair records and shipping log.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies, rotate dated products, verify receipt of goods to purchase order and pricing.
- Provide service, delivery, and training of HME equipment and supplies in accordance with accepted ethical standards and in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Responsible for training new Service Technicians.
- Responsible for timely delivery and set-up of requested items of home Medical Equipment and related supplies.
- Assure that all equipment and supplies selected for delivery are clean and in optimal working condition.
- Rotate responsibility for 24-hour emergency service for our home health care clients, being on-call for HME as scheduled to include carrying a beeper, cell phone and/or other communication device. On-call pay is received.
- Provide customer with verbal and written instructions on the safe and proper use of all delivered equipment, including information on infection control when appropriate.
- Inform customer of potentially unsafe or harmful situations in the home environment related to the delivered equipment, and offer appropriate remedies for the same.
- Maintain equipment storage, cleaning and repair areas in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, including delivery vehicles.
- Responsible for accurately completing documentation required.
- Maintain adequate stock levels to insure all products are sufficiently available.
- Track sales/referrals leads for future follow-up.
- Responsible for the inventory of commonplace items of home Medical Equipment and related supplies.
- Perform minor repairs and periodic maintenance on selected items of home Medical Equipment when such activities can be performed safely and in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines and training criteria.
- Promptly assist customers with products and services.
- Provide quality customer service to the customer.
- Promptly answer multi-line telephone.
- Have a general knowledge of all company products, services and locations.
- Act in a professional manner at all times to customers and other employees.
- Interact as needed with other departments and locations regarding products and services.
- Operate standard office equipment including:
- photocopy machine
- fax machine
- computer/printer
- postage machine
- Comply with HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience
- 1 year experience a plus, but not required
- Training or work experience in mechanical repairs preferred

- Possess a valid driver’s license and provide evidence of a good driving record
