Job Description
Under the direction of the General Manager (GM) and management team, the Delivery Driver works as part of the service team to ensure that each guest that orders from Pizza Nova receive outstanding service and have a great experience. Employees will execute the key tasks to ensure that orders are correct and presentable, delivered in a prompt and safe manner, and will help their teammates in other assignments as needed. Successful employees place a priority on providing great customer service, are proactive in carrying out duties to Pizza Nova standards and are team players.
Essential Duties
The Delivery Driver’s primary objective is to ensure that orders are accurate and delivered to the customer in a timely manner and always up to Company standards.
- Confirm delivery orders received and work with the kitchen and service team to ensure the correct order is prepared and packaged for delivery.
- Ensure orders include any necessary condiments, cutlery, napkins, etc. appropriate to the order or guest request.
- Load food into the company vehicle and delivery to the correct address provided by the guest.
- Ensure compliance with company standards for safe delivery, including contactless delivery processes when required.
- Confirm if orders are pre-paid. Process payments on delivery if needed. Follow proper cash handling procedures as needed.
- Safely use the company vehicle while driving, following all traffic and parking rules. Ensure vehicle interior is kept clean. Notify management of any maintenance issues.
- Assist with other tasks while not on delivery (e.g. restock delivery station, help clean tables, carry food, etc.).
- All employees are expected to follow proper cleaning and handwashing standards.
- Additional duties and projects, such as deep cleaning tasks, will be assigned as needed.
- Possess a service-oriented mindset: outstanding customer service skills, effective interpersonal skills, and have a desire to help others.
- Previous experience working as a Delivery Driver or in the hospitality and service industry is a plus.
- Possess a current driver license and clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a car and follow traffic laws.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized, prioritize work, and ensure timely task completion in a busy, fast paced, and often changing environment.
- Ability to utilize GPS navigation to map driving routes.
- Be willing and able to help the team to support the delivery of a top-notch guest experience.
- Possess and maintain all appropriate certifications (i.e. Food Handlers Card, LEAD Training, etc.).
- Weekend, evening, and holiday availability is a must for this position.
Working Environment
The primary working environment is a busy restaurant setting. Employees in this environment will be exposed to many types of hazards including but not limited to heavy objects, cooking equipment, wet surfaces, hot surfaces, and crowded spaces. Secondary working environment is in the company vehicle out in the assigned delivery area. Employees in this environment will be exposed to many types of hazards including, but not limited to, traffic, road conditions, and weather. Employees working in hazardous areas are required to comply with all applicable safety provisions.

- This is a part-time, hourly position.
- A current Food Handler Card is required for all staff. If one is not available upon hire, the employee will be given 30 days to secure and present the card. Visit the San Diego Food Handler Program Site for more information and a list of options to obtain a card.

- Restaurant hours: 11am - 9pm, Sunday - Thursday | 11am - 9:30pm, Fridays and Saturdays.
- (Service Shifts) Position is tip eligible. Hourly rate is set to minimum wage in effect.
