Summary
Help Member-Retailers increase their profitability by assisting in planning the layout of equipment of new or remodeled stores. Analyze Deli/Bakery departments of Member-Retailers and makes necessary recommendations. Assist in setting up shelving and displays for Member-Retailers. Act as a liaison between Member-Retailers and warehouse personnel in order to increase efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Sell programs to Member- Retailers.
- Evaluate existing equipment and recommend improvements where required
- Study customer shopping patterns and make recommendations
- Ensure Deli/Bakery quality compares with expected standards
- Review product cost and suggested retail price in relation to competition
- Recommend competitive retail price consideration where appropriate
- Assist Member-Retailers in preparing a budget for their Deli/Bakery departments
- Explore reasonable promotional opportunities to build Deli/Bakery sales and increase profit
- Advise warehouse personnel on measures to increase efficiency while increasing distribution
- Compare Member-Retailer's Deli/Bakery quality with competition
- Inform purchasing department on Member-Retailers' requests
- Act as a liaison between warehouse and Member-Retailers
- Assist in food show and seminar preparation
Education and/or Experience
Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
Must have basic working knowledge of computers to include Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- The employee must maintain a current Personal Driver's License issued by the state in which the employee resides.
- The employee must maintain an appropriate motor vehicle record.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of grocery and bakery/deli products
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to sell programs for increased sales
- Operate harmoniously and cooperatively with others within and outside of department. Must promote a positive work environment.
Other Qualifications
Ability to travel 5-6 nights/month, up to 2 weeks at new store openings.
