The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Racial Justice team sits within the office of the CEO at Girl Scouts of the USA. The GSUSA DEIRJ Team aims to eliminate systemic barriers of participation within girl scouting so that every girl and Girl Scout feels included.To deliver on this charge, the team works to provide education and planning to integrate DEIRJ principles across the Girl Scout Movement. It works to strengthen the organization’s capacity to live its mission and values by fostering an anti-racist, diverse, equitable, inclusive and a community of belonging internally at GSUSA as well as councils, volunteers, girl members, and board members. 


Reporting directly to the VP, DEIRJ, the DEIRJ Coordinator is an integral member of the DEIRJ community. This position requires skillsets that include extreme attention to detail, content curation, writing, project management, qualitative and quantitative analysis, cross-functional communications, and stakeholder management.  

 

The ideal candidate is a person who has hands on experience with digital platforms and databases, has excellent follow through, is comfortable with ambiguous problems, can collect and organize multiple sources of information, and can work effectively with stakeholders from across the Girl Scout Movement.  

 

 


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary duties of the position

Strategy and Analysis Support: 

  • Collaborate on and support operationalizing the DEIRJ strategy throughout the organization’s culture. 
  • Support the DEIRJ Team in highlighting areas of strength and opportunity for implementing continuous improvement processes, 
  • Conduct ad hoc benchmarking and data analysis on internal and external DEIRJ practices. 
  • Manage logistics for National Committee and Peer Affinity Group activities, 
  • Track and analyze outcomes and participation data for DEIRJ objectives and initiatives.

 

Program Management Support / Communications 

  • Utilizing vetting project tools, manage implementation activities, processes, documentation and communications for project/process rollout and ongoing support 
  • Develop workstream template and track team execution and deliverables utilizing project management tools and processes. 
  • Act as a cross functional resource to ensure national DEIRJ parameters and goals are being met. 
  • Assist with the curation and DEIRJ material creation; reviews, edits & proofread DEIRJ content from a cross-community lens.  
  • Collaborate with DEIRJ teammates on DEIRJ content development. 
  • Build relationships across GSUSA, including culture champions an EEGS, to increase awareness and understanding of DEIRJ as a critical imperative and drive relevant initiatives. 
  • Clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and management through presentations, guides, and other communications tools

 

Team Support 

  • Develop, manage and maintain DEIRJ team sites – platforms include GS Connect, GS Learn, Website, etc. 
  • Storyboard and design team presentations for audiences across GSUSA and councils.  
  • Manage DEIRJ team inbox – log, answer & triage incoming issues/concerns inquiries. 
  • Manage DEIRJ calendar – events, mtgs, key Community dates/deliverables. 
  • Oversee & manage VP schedule/calendar. 
  • Track & move contracts, invoices through processing. 

  • Excellent organizational skills, follow-through, attention to detail and proven experience in program management execution. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. 
  • Creative problem-solver and consensus-builder who can deftly manage competing expectations and creatively uses resources to deliver. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels within an organization. 
  • Excellent written, presentation, and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex information with clarity to diverse audiences. 
  • Understanding of industry benchmarks, legislation, leading practices, and/or innovations in DEI/RJ 
  • Ability to synthesize input from stakeholders, regional organizations, and industry experts 

  • Office 365 or similar suites 
  • Competency in PowerPoint or similar presentation software 
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel or similar software 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Minimum of (5) years of project coordination, administration, social media, learning platforms and website content management, in a corporate, large non-profit, or similar experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment.

 

POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday with a 35 hour per week schedule. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

SALARY RANGE: $46,200 - $70,000
