Under supervision of the Assistant to the Academic Deans, the GA provides administrative support for graduate school front desk. This is a non-exempt, temporary part time staff position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to Emails.
Updates all Canvas sites.
Book rooms for faculty and staff in 25Live.
Distributes mail.
Create event flyers and advertise as needed.
Set up surveys in Qualtrics
Assists with Program set up
Greets public and handles phone, in-person, mail, fax, and e-mail inquiries from public, staff, faculty, students, and maintains telephone message pad
Distributes mail
Maintains general office and database files
Maintains office equipment to working standards, including copiers
Supports program hospitality events
Maintain News bulletin boards
Update the website as needed.
Update syllabus storage and textbook information
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs other related duties as requested by Program.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Keyboarding skills of approximately 50 w.p.m.
Current computer skills, to include word processing, knowledge of internet, email and database management (Excel, Access).
Solid written and oral communication skills.
Professional and courteous telephone skills.
Attention to detail and record keeping skills.
Skilled command of grammar and spelling.
Capacity to prioritize and organize work requests and projects, often under pressure.
Ability to use common office machines such as photocopier, multi-line telephone systems, fax machines.
Excellent interpersonal skills and public relations skills, including ability to work cooperatively with culturally and linguistically diverse students, clients, staff, faculty, and public.
Willingness and ability to comply with Institute policies, procedures, and mandates.
