Immanuel Communities is seeking a RN Nurse Manager in Assisted Living and Catered Living Services to work at Deerfield located at 13731 Hickman Road, Urbandale, IA 50323. Deerfield has 122 independent living apartment homes, 32 independent living patio homes, 20 assisted living, 24 residential care apartment homes and 30 long-term care/skilled nursing suites. This is a supervisory role leading a team of approximately 15 team members.
Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required
What You Will Do
The role of the Nurse Manager, RN is to ensure the best possible service and care is provided to the residents within the Assisted Living, Residential Care community (specific to certain locations only), and those receiving Home Health Services (specific to certain locations only). The manager is responsible to ensure excellence of personalized care, meeting and exceeding the goals set by Immanuel, state/federal regulations, safety, and resident care and satisfaction. The manager hires, trains and motivates the finest employees to achieve high levels of performance and work harmoniously in a team setting. The manager is expected to perform at the highest levels of customer service, dignity, compassion, and respect as a leader of the department.
Assisted Living responsibilities will include:
- Directs and participates in appropriate care. Records and
reports any changes in patient conditions to the AL Manager. - Utilizes the nursing process in planning individualized resident
care though an interdisciplinary team approach. Assures care
provided complies with plan of care standards through
observation and evaluation. - Appropriately delegates clinical procedures which do not
require licensure to other team members as appropriate. - Assists in planning patient care through an IDT approach and
Assists with ongoing assessments &
reevaluations. - Implements nursing interventions consistent with care of plan.
Directs Nursing Assistants and Universal Care Attendants to
administer medications and treatments (including intravenous
infusions and medications) and evaluates response. Provides
resident and family education. - Demonstrates timely response to resident calls, anticipates
resident needs, and assures resident safety and comfort. - Evaluates resident care effectiveness to assure care
standards are consistently followed and modify if needed
according to nursing policy. - Assess resident pain and establishes an acceptable pain
Responds and intervenes to verbal and non-verbal pain.
Demonstrates the ability to perform in an accurate and precise
manner in crisis and emergency situations.
Catered Living responsibilities will include:
- Evaluate, develop and implement Independent resident services to meet both clinical and personal care services.
- Helps educate residents about Catered Living services and identifies additional opportunity to grow services offered by using futuristic thinking to meet current and future needs of residents in the Community.
- Works to build and expand Catered Living interest and involvement.
- Identify areas of Independent Living service gaps and work with supervisor to implement.
- Consistently seek resident feedback in what they desire on campus for services.
- Partner with in house medical provider to ensure quality of services are being provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Strategize with leaders in how all services lines can work best for residents to "age in place" and develop plans to implement.
- Assist with obtaining and scanning consent forms into the Electronic Health Record.
- Oversees Catered Living team members including the recruitment, retention, coaching, and performance management of Catered Living Staff.
- Helps assess the needs for growing Catered Living team members.
Skills & Requirements
Current & active RN license in the state of Nebraska, Iowa, or compact state required.
Three (3) years of general and related nursing experience preferably with direct experience in a lead or supervisory role.
Equivalent years of education and experience may substitute for experience requirement.
