PGS Worldwide is actively seeking a DEE IT Project Lead to support ongoing projects for an Aerospace leader. This is an initial 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity and I will respond immediately to all qualified candidates.

Job Description:

  • part of a diverse and enthusiastic team who supports the U.S Navy’s Strategic System Program (SSP). We are searching for an IT Project Lead to join the IT Operations team in their support of the customer’s Digital Engineering Environment (DEE) Network.
  • As the IT Project Lead, you will work with a Team to upgrade and deploy new services onto the customer’s DEE network.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT projects, ensuring that they are completed on time and to the satisfaction of stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables project plans and timelines.
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts to complete work as well as performing hands on work in the execution of the projects.
  • Develop procedures to operate the project’s service within the customers’ operating requirements.
  • Transition services to IT Operations team after deployments.
  • You are eager to work in a DoD environment supporting the customer’s mission.
  • You love learning how to use and administer new tools and technologies.
  • You enjoy working with people and collaborating across teams.
  • You have a high degree of personal drive, initiative and the ability to drive change.

Requirements:

  • Working full time on-site at the Washington Navy Yard.
  • An active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret Clearance.
  • An IAT II certification as specified in the DoD 8570.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Common Access Card (CAC), badge access to the customer’s facility, and a SSP network account in good standing.
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 years of position related work experience, OR equivalent position related work experience.
  • Desire to learn new IT technologies to support IT deployment.
  • Working knowledge of EMC Storage, HP Compute, VMWare virtual layer, Citrix virtual desktops, Microsoft/Linux OS, Cisco Networking, and Cisco Unified Communications.
  • Knowledge of ITIL and ITSM.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with partners and government officials.
  • Proven experience deploying complex IT Systems.
  • Experience administering several different IT Systems.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, and updating technical documentation.
  • Candidate must be a US citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal training/certifications.
  • Experience supporting a DoD R&D Program.
  • Experience working in a DoD IT environment.
  • Experience working on classified networks.
  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 6 years of position related work experience.
