The Deck Foreman is the Person Responsible for Lifting Operations (PRLO) onboard. The Deck Foreman is responsible for daily deck operations, and plans, manages and coordinates task execution. The Deck Foreman is a senior leader for the deck crews.

Responsibility
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to:

- Perform other work as directed
- Emergency responsibilities as per station bill
- Supervise lifting and other deck operations
- Supervise helicopter operations onboard, as well as personnel transport to/from the rig by other means
- Planning lifting and other deck operations in liaison with Client and Tourpusher
- Planning back-loading in liaison with Logistics Coordinator
- Preparing deck loading plans
- Acting as HLO, when required
- Acting as PRLO
- Relieving Crane Operators as required
- Lifting gear locker and lifting equipment management
- Signing off container checklists for arrival and departure

- Make required entries in the maintenance logbook, the lubrication/greasing logbook and the deck logbook
- Regular inspections of the cranes, the crane wires, and the cargo gear. Make sure that all cargo gear being used are properly certified and maintain accurate logs of all lifting tackle and appliances
- Necessary reporting to the Deputy OIM regarding operation or repair to ensure that relevant entries are made in the Preventive Maintenance System
- Container checklists for arrival and departure have to be signed by the Crane
Qualification requirements
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as Assistant Crane Operator / Deck Operator or equivalent
- Requires knowledge of crane and rigging safety instrutions and regulations and the operational limits of cranes and associated lifting equipment.
- Experience supervising Roustabout crews and in offshore drilling operations.
- Strong leadership skills and an ability to coach, motivate and mentor others and develop their skills and knowledge.
Certification Requirements:
- Training according to training matrix
- Crane Operator Stage 3 certificate or equivalent as per area of operation
- Certified as Helicopter Landing Officer – preferably accredited to OPITO
- Banksman Slinger and Rigger certificate – OPITO or internalNoble
- Good interpersonal skills – ability to communicate at all levels
- Good verbal and written English skills

- Conduct in a manner which safeguards own and colleagues' safety and health

- Ensure the safety of the deck crew and their observance of correct working
- Operate the cranes safely, paying attention to correct working procedures/practices
- As HLO, ensure the safe conduct of helideck operations
- Perform duties of an emergency team leader in emergency situations
- Ensure that hazardous products are handled, stored, used and labelled in accordance with the information on the product data sheet. Ensure that personnel using the products are instructed accordingly.
