Job Title: Deck Attendant / Cashier

Compensation: $14.00 per hour to start depending upon quailifications
Reports to: Pool Manager
Essential Functions The Deck Attendant/cashier is responsible for the cash register operations & security for controlling patron entry to the pool. Attendants/cashiers enforce all rules in the water play areas and on the pool deck.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for all pool admissions and checking of seasonal passes.
- Maintain an accurate cash register bank at the beginning & end of the shift.
- Keep front desk and entry areas clean, organized and clear of litter. Assist with additional cleaning if necessary.
- Notify patrons of early pool closings, inclement weather, and safety and health regulations of the pool.
- Supervise and enforce rules in the water play areas and on deck.
- Regularly check the gate from the large pool into the baby pool to make sure that it closes completely and operates properly.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Pool Manager, Aquatics Coordinator or Recreation Supervisor.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the park district's policies and operations and enforce them in a positive manner.
- Deck Attendants will patrol large pool, baby pool and spray areas. You will be responsible for enforcing rules on deck including in the water play areas, looking for safety concerns & correcting when possible, assisting with first aid, helping with crowd control during emergencies and keeping the decks free of litter.
Risk Management
- Actively supports and enforces the safety program instituted by the Park District
- Maintains a working knowledge of all general agency and department-specific safety rules
- Attends required safety program and in-service education meetings as directed
- Corrects unsafe conditions and/or reports them to your director supervisor
- Enforces safety disciplinary policies and procedures
- Uses protective gloves, masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to pathogens
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations and procedures established by the safety program of the River Trails Park District.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be at least 14 yrs. old
- Work permit required for those under 16 years old
- Be able to make correct change with currency and coins
- Must portray a mature and positive attitude and work well with the public.
Recommended Qualifications:
- Certification in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) within 3 months of employment

_ Sedentary Work Lifting 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
