Your work as a Debris Field Supervisor will make a real difference as you support the Response Team with various tasks including supervising monitors who drive around and follow hauling contractors to ensure debris is properly removed according to local, state and federal regulations. Additionally, the work will directly impact our ability to help our clients and communities respond and clean up after a storm, enabling us to successfully initiate and deliver projects, and rapidly respond to our clients' needs by having boots on the ground immediately after disaster strikes.We are looking for self-motivated, responsible, and confident individuals with a commitment to integrity and the ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively with minimal supervision. If this sounds like you, then you have found the right fit in Witt O'Brien's.Position Details Reports to: Operations Manager or Project Manager Location: Hanford, CA Position Type: On-Call Pay: Hourly FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Compensation: $18 Travel Requirements: In Local Area daily and some regional travelEssential Job Functions Serve as first-line management for Field Debris Monitors, assisting as necessary with any questions or issues that arise in the field. Hold morning and evening debriefing meetings. Ensure time and attendance records for Field Debris Monitors are accurate and reported timely. Ensure Field Debris Monitors follow all procedures and interact positively within the community and team members. Hold safety briefings and ensure safety procedures are followed. Communicate issues, problems, and questions through the Chain of Command. Oversee Quality Control at loading sites. Coordinate field operations with removal contractors. Prepare daily written reports of all activities including photographs. Learn and follow all phases of the Debris Management operation including loading sites, Debris Management Sites, and final landfill sites. Maintain familiarity with the requirements outlined in all debris removal and disposal contracts. Schedule and deploy the loading and tower/site Debris Monitors, overseeing daily activities at all sites. Resolve field operational, eligibility, and safety issues, maintaining constant communication with the Operations Manager and/or Project Manager. Communicate and coordinate daily activities with FEMA, State and applicant field personnel as required. Conduct or oversee truck certifications, load measurement, and photo-documentation as required. Collect daily logs from the Debris Monitors and tabulates truckload data for daily reports. Make unannounced visits to all sites to review and inspect operations to ensure guidelines and requirements are followed. Ensure only debris from approved areas is loaded for removal Establish baseline inventory of equipment to include photographs of all equipment (i.e.

boats, barges, trucks, and trailers) used in Debris Operations.Minimum Job Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Positive, friendly, courteous customer and client skills. Good team work and cooperation skills. Ability to follow safety protocols and work instructions. Ability to communicate verbally in English and write legibly on work tickets. Ability to pass a drug screen, motor vehicle, and criminal background check. Must have a valid State Driver's License. Must provide proof of valid Insurance Card of liability insurance. Possess a cellular phone with charger. Ability to climb ladders, trucks, and platforms up to 20 feet. Ability to work in high degree temperatures with high humidly for long periods during the day. Ability to drive and work in areas with disaster and harsh outdoor conditions. Ability to supervise others effectively and positively. Ability to work as early as 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., seven days a week during response period: approximately 12 to 14 hours per day.
