Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the Math, Science, and Teaching Department aligned with the overall educational goals of the institution.
- Provide leadership in curriculum development, program assessment, and departmental initiatives.
- Faculty Management:
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty members within the Math, Science, and Teaching Department.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative faculty culture, promoting professional development, research initiatives, and effective teaching practices.
- Teaching Excellence:
- Champion teaching excellence within the department, emphasizing innovative and student-centered pedagogies.
- Encourage the integration of technology and educational best practices in teaching methodologies.
- Curriculum Oversight:
- Oversee the development and revision of math, science, and Teaching curricula, ensuring alignment with educational standards and industry trends.
- Implement best practices in teaching and learning within the department.
- Student Engagement and Success:
- Collaborate with faculty to create an enriching and supportive learning environment for students.
- Monitor student performance and implement strategies to enhance student success, retention, and interest in teaching careers.
- Resource Allocation:
- Manage departmental resources, including budgets, facilities, and equipment.
- Work with administration to secure funding for departmental projects, teacher training initiatives, and educational technology.
- Program Assessment:
- Establish and implement assessment strategies to evaluate the effectiveness of math, science, and Teaching programs.
- Analyze data to make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
- Collaboration and Outreach:
- Collaborate with other department heads and administrators to enhance interdisciplinary initiatives, particularly those bridging math, science, and Teaching.
- Foster relationships with external partners, industry professionals, and educational institutions.
- Compliance and Accreditation:
- Ensure departmental compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the preparation of reports for accreditation processes.
- Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant field within Math, Science, or Teaching.
- Previous leadership experience in an academic setting, preferably in a dean or department chair role.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.
- Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external stakeholders.
- At least Five years of work experience in the education industry.
