GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
The Dean of Nursing reports directly to the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and is responsible for administering one academic program area. The Dean will hire, supervise and evaluate approximately 16 full-time faculty members and support staff, and will provide oversight for the overall department and program budgets.
The typical work schedule for this position will be Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

- Direct the preparation of the annual budget for department and supervise its implementation.
- Recommend staff for appointment, assignment and other personnel actions and supervise and evaluate the faculty and staff.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of all reports and studies that are required from the department.
- Assist in providing for proper facilities, equipment and materials to meet the needs of the instructional programs.
- Cooperate with other departments and offices within the College to foster communications and services to meet the educational needs of students.
- Maintain contacts with area high schools and colleges, appropriate businesses, agencies, and community organizations and individuals in the College’s service area.
- Perform other related work duties as assigned.

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing, pushing, pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Master’s degree in a field related to one or more of the discipline areas of responsibility or in administration required.
- Current licensure as a registered nurse
- Two years of experience in clinical nursing.
- Two years of experience in nursing education.
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Preferred DNP and/or PhD in Nursing.
- College teaching experience and previous administrative or supervisory experience preferred.
- Community college experience.
- Previous experience in curriculum development preferred.
