Summary
The primary function of this position is to apply skills and expertise to generate solutions to ensure the productivity and efficiency of the facility. Responsibilities include developing methods and standards, conducting validation studies of methods and standards, and evaluating approaches to meet project objectives in a timely, cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities
• Support operational processes of the Fulfillment, Customer Returns, and Cross-dock Operations in all Distribution Centers/3PL facilities
• Investigate and gain understanding of both Industry Best Practices and new methods, processes, and technologies and make proposals as needed to support Carhartt's continuous improvement process.
• Lead and/or participates in continuous improvement and/or capital expenditure projects and initiatives.
• Support Automation and expansion projects across the DC Network
• Develop detailed drawings, descriptions, process flow diagrams, and instructional documents as needed and/or directed.
• Ensure that the design for new and existing process flows will meet increased annual demand
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external colleagues, including but not limited to Third Party Logistics Partners, Operations Management, and External Vendors.
• Coordinate the evaluation and maintenance of key system metrics
• Provide explanation, instruction and training to DC associates as needed and/or directed by supervisor
• Establish methods and/or standards for any activities within the facility to ensure the productivity and efficiency of the facility.
• Troubleshoot any technical efficiency (such as direct/indirect labor), quality, capacity, plant layout, or ergonomic issues.
• Perform special projects/analyses as directed and assigned.
Education
Required Skills and Experience
• 1 year of engineering or process improvement experience required.
• Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
• Experience with WMi and SAP preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management.
• Outstanding organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and attention to detail.
• Experience working in union environment preferred.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience required in Engineering or Related Field
