Daytime Work

Why read this? I need reliable support staff so I can devote more of my time to pursuing my passions, like working on my series of novels. To know whether you want to do all of the job duties, you need to read this whole ad. This job is much more than cleaning!

Overview I need assistance with daily physical tasks that I cannot do on my own because of poor muscle coordination. I am currently hiring for the morning/day shift (7 am – 5 pm), which a few people trade off doing. Although I am a petite woman who can walk with physical support, you will need to do some momentary lifting.

Specifics I need a hand with getting out of bed, getting positioned on the toilet, eating, showering, dressing, grooming, and brushing my teeth. These are all familiar morning activities, and I can help. After I get ready for my day, I usually email independently while you attend to the morning chores. Then, I need your assistance with an early lunch that is already prepared. Typically, I happily do my own things while you are in earshot – not hovering. I love exercising my intellectual independence whenever I can. Because of this, I can spend hours organizing my thinking via email, writing my novels, blogs, and video scripts as well as creating my support staff’s monthly work schedule. During these hours with me doing my own things, you have some more household chores to do. You give me a hand with eating prepared meals throughout the day, but I will tell you when I am hungry. In fact, I will tell you everything I need and when – no need to anticipate my needs. This is also true for going to places. No worries – I have an insured and accessible minivan. Yeah, I use a power wheelchair for mobility and an eye gaze communication system for verbal and written communication.

Who Should Apply? I more than welcome mellow people, who like learning, to apply for this peaceful paced, and eclectic job that has both routine and spontaneity. You do not need any prior experience as I provide paid hands-on training, written instructions, reading materials, learning videos, and space for mistakes. Since I will be your direct supervisor, you can ask me when you have trouble remembering something. People with introverted tendencies and calm personalities usually do great at this job as I practice peace. Oh yeah, I need cat lovers, because I have two sweet boy cats who need food, water, and snuggles throughout the day.

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No nights
• Weekends as needed
