Day Camp Unit Leader

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a Day Camp Unit Leaderto join our team!

This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.

As a Day Camp Unit Leader you will be responsible for supporting Day Camp Staff in unit, ensure safety of all children at camp, and plan and lead group activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead weekly camp program for assigned unit.
• Implement theme and character development activities into all camp programming.
• Plan, lead and assist group activities, transitions, time fillers, and songs.
• Manage all day to day unit operations.

Qualifications:

• Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
• Positive attitude and previous experience with children and diverse populations.
• Knowledge and skills in Day Camp program activities and related equipment set-up, and the ability to instruct participants in age appropriate techniques.
• Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required.

Wage: $17.74 to $19.74 per hour, depending on qualifications

Hours: Full-Time, Seasonal,June 12 - August 31

Location:YMCA Camp Lake Helena, Port Orchard, WA
