What is NORY?

NORY is a premium STEM camp for 3-12-year-old children, working with 3,000 campers at 13 camp locations in NYC annually. We use STEM to nurture purposeful changemakers by helping children develop Resilience, Inquisitiveness, and Empathy. We are looking for a rock-star Summer Camp Site Director. Why join NORY?

At NORY, we are committed to the professional development of our team members. As a Site Director, you'll receive training and support to enhance your skills in STEM education and leadership. Summer Camp Site Director Responsibilities:

  • Coach and train teachers, helping them understand the purpose of each activity and implementing protocols for a FUN and SAFE environment
  • Nurture positive, supportive relationships with NORY campers and their families
  • Manage resources critical to the success of our NORY camp (i.e., materials, facilities, daily schedule, etc.)
  • Keep administrative records for the camp
  • Provide adequate support to achieve the following 3 core camp goals: Safety, Fun, and NORY Core Values (resilience, inquisitiveness, and empathy)

Summer Camp Site Director Compensation and Benefits:

  • Schedule: 7:30-5:30PM (M-F)
  • Note: Camp duration and pay depend on size; smaller camps end at 4:30 PM and larger camps end at 5:30 PM with additional pay for Site Directors.
  • Compensation: $1,223.75-1,575.00/week
  • Starting pay (minimum) is $1,223.75, with the potential to earn up to $1,575.00 weekly, including a $150 weekly bonus.
  • Compensation is dependent on years of experience. Higher pay tier available for candidates with 8+ years of experience who satisfactorily complete the NORY evaluation performance requirements

  • Possible Pre-Season Work (May): 2~10 hours/week
  • All trainings are compensated $15/hour
  • Option for early dismissal with prorated compensation
