DFA Zumbrota has an opening for Day Blend Operator. This position is responsible for following all DFA Ingredient Solutions GMPs and working in a manner consistent with all corporate and regulatory, food safety, and quality and sanitation requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Weighs each ingredient and adds to the batch
- Ensures the product is ready to dry
- Carries out all QA checks in the mix room
- Operates the pH meter, refractometer, etc. to keep product within specifications
- Performs necessary routine cleaning and preventive maintenance
- Follows established plant operating and cleaning procedures
- Follows Good Manufacturing Practices
- Assists with safety analysis and on the job training of new employees
- Attends educational training seminars and safety meetings
- Reports unsafe acts, conditions, and accidents immediately to supervisor
- Covers vacations and overtime as needed or required
- Assists with duties in other departments as needed
- Performs other work as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and job safety analysis
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage
- Performs work independently, as required
- Knowledge with machines, tools, equipment, and Lockout Tagout
Required Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
