JOB DESCRIPTION
The Database Developer role will consist of database and software development, project management, department operations & communication, and financial analysis. This position will play a key role in analyzing, managing, and refining business processes and should have an aptitude for working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities include managing in-flight projects, day-to-day department operations & communications, and conducting ad hoc financial analysis and budget reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Database Development
- Main responsibility will be the development of software for our Data Warehouse system. Additional responsibilities will include aiding in implementation design at a code and system level and working with other developers through code reviews and pair programming opportunities
- Report Building
- Compile reports as defined by various business stakeholders, including CFO, CEO and Director of Entertainment
- Troubleshooting / Support
- Troubleshoot database and reporting related issues as they arise
- Financial Analysis
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to determine ROI on different areas of the business
MUST-HAVE SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or similar field
- 5-6 years of experience, preferably in technology or management consulting
- Exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented
- Familiar with software development life cycle and agile development practices
- Self-Starter with a sense of ownership for everything you deliver
- Experience working with large-scale applications
- Experience with a variety of relational databases including Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and Oracle
- Experience writing stored procedures and functions
- Experience writing complex ETL including merges, triggers, etc.
- Experience using database change management tools; Sqitch
- Experience using git and pull requests to manage code changes; Git
- Experience with Snowflake database (knowledge of stages, integrations & tasks preferred)
- Experience with CI/CD tools and pipelines (Atlassian Bit Bucket preferred)
- Experience developing Node.js applications
- Experience using cloud platforms, specifically AWS
- Experience using the Atlassian Suite (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
- Able to communicate effectively, both technically and generally
- Able to show strong analytical problem solving and decision-making skills
