Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Senior Database Architect to support a large Government Contract.
This position will be the primary Senior Database Architect supporting a large cloud hosting environment to ensure a secure migration and operation of the client's cloud hosting environment. The selected candidate will be expected to lead and direct the modernization effort of the client's data architecture efforts which include: moving legacy applications into the cloud hosting environment under an Agile DevSecOps methodology utilizing continuous development and testing. Modernization process will include migrating to multiple cloud service providers.
Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, and installs database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational Database Architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management. Defines and oversees database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation. Provides technical consulting in the definition, design, and creation of a data base environment. Advises applications development staff and users on data-based solutions to business problems, data architectures, data base management system facilities and capabilities, and the operation and tuning of data bases. Ensures economic and efficient availability of data within adequate safeguards. Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Uses data mapping, data mining and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop databases. Determines data storage and optimum storage requirements. Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation.
The Senior Database Architect's primary responsibilities include:
Position is Remote with some travel to customer sites expected.
Qualifications
Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D.
Desired Qualifications
Target Salary Range
$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

The Senior Database Architect's primary responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with Government Stakeholders to gather requirements.
- Design, develop and maintain data models based on requirements and incorporate industry best practices and standards.
- Develop and implement strategies for database creation, deployment, maintenance, and configuration. Ensure database solutions are scalable, efficient, and reliable.
- Ensure database implementations and solutions meet performance and availability requirements.
- Work with a hybrid of on-premises and cloud-based RDBMS environments.
- Develop and implement data migration strategies.

Qualifications

- Experience with AWS RDS, AWS S3, AWS Glacier
- Experience with Oracle, Postgres, MySQL
- Experience with MongoDB, DynamoDB, Apache Cassandra
- Familiarity with Database-as-a-Service
- Working in an Agile Software Development environment
- Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; or Equivalent experience.
- US Citizenship required.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
Desired Qualifications
- AWS Solutions Architect, Associate or related certification
- ITIL v4 Certification
- Experience with DevSecOps
- Experience with the following technologies: GitLab, GitLab Runners, Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Tempo, Splunk
