Job Duties: Develop and document Database Architectures. Create data architecture strategies for collecting, managing and analyzing the data. Under supervision, develop Database Architectural strategies at the modeling, design and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements. Design, develop, test, and maintain Data warehouse and databases. Create and enforce database development standards. Create strategies and plans for data security, backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and archiving. Demonstrate database technical functionality, such as performance, security and reliability. Design databases to support business applications under direct supervision of senior staff member, ensuring system scalability, security, performance and reliability. Utilize in-depth understanding of relational database design concepts such as UNIX Shell scripts and writing SQL queries. Develop data models for applications, metadata tables, views or related database structures. Conform and merge data from multiple data source types such as MSSQL, Oracle, Javascript and Sun Solaris. Utilize development tools such as PL/SQL, Informatica, ERWIN, Autosys and PERL scripts.
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, plus 3 years of experience in the job offered, as a Programmer, Programmer Analyst, Database Administrator, or a related position. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study, plus 5 years of progressive, post-degree experience in the job offered, as a Programmer, Programmer Analyst, Database Administrator, or a related position.
- No travel or telecommuting. Position is project-based at various unanticipated work sites within the U.S. and relocation may be required at the end of each long-term project.
