Overview:
This position is expected to contribute to the design, build and technical support of the physician compensation database used to track and validate physician compensation. This position will also have a role in the day to day operations and tasks required to ensure timely and accurate payments to physicians on Mercy payroll.
Primary functions may include:
  • Participate in database management system design
  • Assist with setting standards, guidelines and quality assurance for database deliverables
  • Aid with conceptual design, capacity planning, external data interface specification, data loading plan, and data maintenance plan
  • Engage with security policy planning
  • Design and write code for complex calculations and/or processes
  • Report writing
  • Automation of existing processes
  • Maintain documentation and communicate database design
  • Must be competent with SQL coding of complex programs that may include complex calculations and logic, the build of windows, screens, and reports.
  • Will be expected to perform and monitor ongoing process to ensure proper function and adherence to policies.
  • Monitors accuracy of database information and maintains integrity of system data.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associates degree with database emphasis, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 2 years of database experience.
  • Other:
    • Working Knowledge of databases
    • Experience with relational databases
    • Strong foundation in Database design
    • Understand and write SQL design
    • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
    • Expert knowledge in Excel, especially with formulas, Power Pivot, and large complex worksheets
    • Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task to meet deadlines
    • Experience with Management Studio, Toad, or similar SQL database tool

Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in related field, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Experience: 5 years of database experience.
