Our services include engineering, information and technology support, application development and support, network operations, network surveillance, facilities maintenance, procurement and warehousing.
JOB TITLE:Database Analyst
DIVISION: Shared Services - Information Services
DEPARTMENT: Administration
JOB SUMMARY

  • The Database Analyst supports the accurate and timely use of data by the business. Works closely with peers and management to deliver data that supports understanding of the business. Produces accurate data products in a timely manner across a diverse set of datasets. Contributes to development of reporting products deployed across multiple technologies. Assists in development of integrations as required by vendors, applications and departments. Helps simplify the use of data by departments by contributing to development of a data warehouse, contributing to a single view of important business data compiled from disparate data sources.
  • The Database Analyst reports directly to the Database Architect.
  • There are no direct reports to this position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Collaborate with customers to define technical requirements meeting business requirements;
  • Provide ad hoc data requests utilizing myriad data sources;
  • Develop customer facing reporting using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS);
  • Support Business Intelligence users, advising on efficient and accurate use of data;
  • Assist in development and support of a data warehouse;
  • Work closely with Billing and Marketing to explore subscriber and product metrics;
  • Support product analysis and rate adjustments;
  • Utilize SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) for data automation including integrations to internal and external applications;
  • Provides advice to analysts and programmers in the effective use of database languages; advises on troubleshooting, exception processing needs, and other data management issues;
  • Creates, procures and maintains various database related documents such as manuals and handbooks;
  • Providing support in other functional areas of the IS organization as necessary;
  • Performing any miscellaneous departmental duties as assigned;

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent education/experience - Required
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience - Required
  • A demonstrated understanding of programming techniques in general, the SQL language and relational databases in specific - Required

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The Database Analyst is a full-time exempt position. The regular business hours are 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday. The hours may vary to accommodate departmental needs.
  • The Database Analyst works in an automated business office environment with business office equipment including telephones, personal computers, copy machines and FAX equipment.
  • The Database Administrator is required to drive on the job as needed and is subject to regular MVR checks. He/she must maintain a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record the meets Company standards for an insurable driver at all times. Any time these conditions are not met, he/she must not drive on the job and must immediately report it to their supervisor.
  • The Company is a drug-free workplace. All employees are required to adhere to the Company's drug-free workplace programs and policies. Pre-employment testing is mandatory along with random testing throughout continued employment.
